Valeriya Hjertenaes, is a true embodiment of hard work, determination, and a passion for making a difference in the world. Valeriya was brought up in Ukraine and is now a proud citizen of the world.

Valeriya was awarded the highly prestigious Mrs. World Congeniality award at the 37th Mrs. World competition in Las Vegas. This award recognizes Valeriya’s outstanding efforts to bring people together and promote diversity.
Valeriya is a versatile individual with several interests and pursuits. As the General Manager of GalleryValery – 3G (Art and Handcrafts Workshop/Academy), she runs a charity foundation called “WINDS OF HOPE.” Through the foundation, she volunteers to teach courses for kids and adults with psychological disorders and syndromes.
Valeriya is a mother of two Ukrainian girls whom she adopted 13 and 10 years ago. Her selflessness and kindness are truly inspiring.

Valeriya is also highly engaged in her professional life. She is a member of the World Business Angels Investment forum’s Global Women Leaders Committee and serves as the WBAF International Partner for Norway. As the Head of Cooperation Projects Norway/Ukraine at the Royal Norwegian Honorary Consulate, Valeriya is involved in several high-priority projects, including the establishment of the “Mayday Charity Foundation,” which provides food and medicine to two orphanages for physically disabled children in Odessa, Ukraine. Additionally, Valeriya is involved in the transportation and resettlement of Ukrainian refugees in Norway.
Valeriya holds a PhD in Diversity Management in Sustainable International Projects from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and is a mentor at GLEAC International Mentor Community, specializing in Diversity Management, SDG, and DEI. She is also an honorable member of the Editors Committee of the first “Sustainability” magazine of Ukraine, “Sustainable Leaders.”

Valeriya’s life vision is “Our great significance is in our differences!” Her career vision is “Sustainability is the outcome of a habit, not a random act!” and her leadership vision is “Managing Diversity is advocating for multiple perspectives.” She believes that diversity is a great benefit but can also be a double-edged sword if not managed professionally.
Valeriya’s dream for life is freedom and peace for her country and the world. As a member of the Women Global Leaders Committee at WBAF, she is actively working towards enhancing women’s empowerment and raising awareness about the importance of establishing legal and institutional frameworks that promote gender equality and non-discrimination.
